The man who caused the Washington Wizards so much grief during the 2017 playoffs is now on their radar in free agency. According to David Aldridge of The Athletic, the Wizards are talking to guard Isaiah Thomas, which comes on the heels of them signing-and-trading Tomas Satoransky to the Chicago Bulls.

The pinnacle of Thomas' career came during the second round of the 2017 playoffs while he was a member of the Boston Celtics, as he lit up Washington for 27.4 points and 7.1 assists per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the floor, 46.3 percent from three-point range and 84.9 percent from the free-throw line as he led the Celtics to a seven-game series win.

Of course, that was also the last time Thomas was actually relevant.

Following a hip injury that knocked him out of the Eastern Conference Finals that same season, Thomas has barely even looked like a shell of himself and has been with three teams since Boston traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving during the summer of 2017.

After struggling mightily with the Cavaliers, Thomas was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers at the deadline in February 2018, but his stint with the Lakers did not last very long, as he opted to undergo surgery that March. He would proceed to sign with the Denver Nuggets in free agency, but he played in just 12 games with the Nuggets this past season before head coach Mike Malone took him out of the rotation.

Now 30 years old, it's difficult to envision just how much Thomas has left.
