After falling to 1-4 to start their 2018-19 campaign, Washington Wizards All-Star back court John Wall and Bradley Beal called out their teammates for putting their “personal agenda” first before the team.

Beal spoke to reporters following their 116-112 loss to the Sacramento Kings, and was clearly disappointed with how his teammates are playing to start the year, with an emphasis on defense.

“Sometimes we have our own agendas on the floor, whether it's complaining about shots, complaining about playing time, complaining about whatever it may be,” Beal said per Matt Eppers of USA Today. “We're worried about the wrong (expletive) and that's not where our focus needs to be and it's just going to continue to hurt us.”

His back court running mate echoed the same sentiments.

“Everybody on their own agenda,” said Wall. “We showed glimpses when we do stuff as a team, we show how good we can be, and then we go back to trying to do it individually, and that's mostly on the defensive end.”

Wall and Beal have every right to call out their teammates if they need to since they are they unquestioned leaders of this squad. Moreover, the two have done their part to lead the way for the Wizards in their first five games of the year. Beal is currently team's leading scorer, averaging 24.2 points while shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from deep. Wall, on the other hand, has been doing everything for the Wizards, producing solid across the board numbers of 21.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.8 blocks.

Despite the their All-Star back court playing well, the Wizards have struggled out of the gates defensively, as they are currently giving up 122.8 points per game – the second worst in the NBA. An early season internal strife like this certainly looks like a call for concern.

However, despite the bad start, it is encouraging for the Wizards that Wall and Beal are on the same page. The season is still early, and the fact that these two are in sync indicates that they will eventually be able to turn things around sooner rather than later.
