The NC State basketball team found a way to defeat Wake Forest in a tight ACC showdown on Tuesday night. However, the officiating was a big talking point during and after the game. One viral moment involved NC State star DJ Horne, who was seen flipping off the refs behind their backs down the stretch.

Horne has since posted an apology on his X account:

On Wednesday, Horne was reprimanded by the ACC, per the release from the conference:

‘The Atlantic Coast Conference announced that it has issued a reprimand to NC State’s DJ Horne following Tuesday night’s Wake Forest at NC State men’s basketball game.
The reprimand was issued following the league office’s review of the game and is based on Horne’s involvement in an unsportsmanlike and inappropriate gesture at the end of the game. The league will have no further comment on this matter.'

There is no further discipline coming from the ACC as of now, but the NC State basketball program could decide to take disciplinary actions against Horne if they choose to.

In the game, Horne led the Wolfpack with 21 points, but there were a total of 26 fouls for Wake Forest and 22 for NC State. The video of Horne flipping off the refs immediately went viral, and his apology came later on after the game.

The NC State basketball team next plays against Virginia Tech on Saturday, so it will be worth monitoring to see if they take further action on DJ Horne for this incident.
