On Tuesday night, the Northeast Conference Championship game was held between Wagner Seahawks and Bryant Bulldogs. They finished the regular season as the conference's top two teams. So, tensions were high with the only NCAA tournament bid likely on the line. Wagner dominated play and led by nearly 30 points let when things got ugly and the term March Madness took on a new meaning.

A brawl broke out between the fans of the Seahawks and the Bulldogs. The Wagner fans were more than likely frustrated, as they were witnessing the end to their team's season. But that frustration boiled over. It's not clear exactly what started the brawl, but punches began being thrown. A Bryant fan is seen throwing his cup of some type of liquid, likely a beer, onto the opposing fans.

There was a lot of pushing and shove, with some of the Wagner fans at the bottom fleeing toward the court. There is video of the ESPN broadcast where you can clearly see Wagner's Will Martinez trying to climb into the stands. He is held back by teammates and team personnel.

Fans from both schools would eventually be kicked out of the game after nearly a 30-minute suspension of play. The Bulldogs ended up winning the game comfortably, 70-43.

Sadly, the brawl will likely overshadow an amazing performance from Bryant's Peter Kiss. Kiss scored 34 points on 13 for 23 shooting from the field. Kiss has been one of the best offensive players in college basketball this season. He will enter the NCAA Tournament averaging just under 25 points per game, among the tops in the sport.
