The Michigan Wolverines are going to be a happy group for some time moving forward. Not only does the school have the best khaki-wearing coach in the country, but the university's board of regents just decided that a near $15 million upgrade to the football team's performance center was in order.
You hear that? That is Jim Harbaugh fist-pumping someone. I don't know who, but you know that is exactly what he is doing.
The school’s regents approved plans for a renovated Schembechler Hall football performance center. That is the news here. That includes green lighting the design of the project for approximately $14.8 million.
Michigan announced the news by way of a press release.
The project will include nearly 24,000 square feet of renovations to the hall and construction of a further 8,000 square feet that will mostly be devoted to health and wellness for the football team.
That's not it. There's more to this performance center … because of course there is more.

There are still some logistical things that need to be worked out. Most notable of which, is who exactly is going to take on such a foreboding project.
Bidding on the construction contracts is already underway and the whole thing is set to be finished at some point in the winter of 2019. That is rather soon.
If Michigan received a huge bump to its prestige when Harbaugh returned to be the head football coach, it is about to get another one via the university dumping money into its performance center.
