The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are back in the news for all the wrong reasons once again.

Earlier this week, it was reported that a former player was suing the school, Brian Kelly, and many others, for allegedly hiding the results of an MRI. In turn, at least according to the lawsuit, the former Fighting Irish talent played through an injury to the point it resulted in permanent damage.

Another hit on the iffy resume of Brian Kelly. Kelly's weird tenure is something we discussed in great length earlier in the week.

On Friday, another lawsuit found itself at the doorstep of the Irish. This time, a woman alleges the university — as well as some key figures — covered up a rape.

According to the lawsuit, first reported by The Observer, a student (who goes by Jane Doe) was spending the 2015-16 academic year at Notre Dame as part of an exchange program. According to her, she was escorting a drunk football player (also anonymous and is referred to as “Jack Roe”) back to his dorm room, where he sexually assaulted her.

In the lawsuit, it is claimed that Roe smashed Doe's phone to prevent her from calling for help.

Here is where things get even more murky.

A second alleged victim got in touch with Doe and they spoke with the Title IX office, who apparently told the accused football player that Doe was “not participating” after she and her father asked the Title IX office to investigate the second alleged victim’s story before contacting the accused football player. Doe claims Notre Dame never educated her on her rights under Title IX since she was a visiting student.

She was then advised to drop her case, as the player was requesting a transfer, and that it would be best for her if he'd just leave without any red flags popping up.

Doe says she has lasting emotional trauma and flinches when a large person walks into a room. She isn't only calling for changes to the school’s Title IX process, she is also demanding that Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame football staff do a better job of vetting their recruits.
