Jim Larrañaga is already entrenched in the NCAA Tournament's history books. After all, he was the pilot of the legendary '06 George Mason team that made it all the way to the Final Four as an 11th seed. That alone will make him remembered amongst the greatest of all time.

But like that mad man that he is, Jim Larrañaga went and did it again, this time for the Miami Hurricanes. Larrañaga's team cracked the Elite Eight with a win over the Iowa State Cyclones, cementing the coach's legacy amongst the best in history. (via ESPN Stats and Info)

Larrañaga's legacy will forever be remembered for his run with George Mason. The NCAA Tournament was taken by storm by the Patriots' sudden rise to the top. They knocked out powerhouses like Michigan State, UNC, and Connecticut, before bowing to the eventual champions Florida in the Final Four.

The Miami Hurricanes will be facing a tall task in their bid to get Larrañaga to the Final Four, though. They'll be facing the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks in the quarterfinals, which isn't going to be easy. If they get past the Jayhawks, they'll get one of the two red-hot teams in UNC and Saint Peter's (two teams that have been the Cinderellas of the NCAA Tournament)

Still, Coach Larrañaga has proven that he has what it takes to go deep in the NCAA Tournament. In a season full of upsets (especially on their side of the bracket), it would be magical to see one of the protagonists of the best underdog story in March Madness history get a chance to finish what he started.
