Ben Simmons has finally received his wish as he was traded away from the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday in a blockbuster deal for James Harden. Now, Simmons joins a Brooklyn Nets team consisting of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, two of the best players in the NBA. While KD is injured right now, Simmons is reportedly ecstatic with his new surroundings, according to his agent Rich Paul.

Ben Simmons has already talked to Kevin Durant and Sean Marks, Rich Paul tells ESPN. Simmons is eager to join Nets and ramp up for a return to play this season, Paul says. “We've got to work to do to get him back to play, but it's a great step in right direction.”

Simmons hasn't played since last year's NBA Playoffs, but he has been training on a regular basis. He should fit in very nicely with the Nets given his dynamic skill set. Simmons' ability to facilitate and create for teammates is only going to benefit those around him.

After all, the 25-year-old is a three-time All-Star. He's one of the best two-way talents in the league, despite his collapse in the last postseason. The Nets also got Seth Curry and Andre Drummond in the deal, which is not bad by any means, either.

A fresh start can do wonders for a player. The Nets will be hoping that's the case for Ben Simmons.
