D’Angelo Russell is feeling all the pressure heading into the tail end of the regular season, hoping to clinch a playoff berth heading into a three-game homestand. The Brooklyn Nets recently dropped an important road game against the Philadelphia 76ers, putting them right back at the .500 mark with a 38-38 record.

“S**t, a lot [of pressure], especially if we’re not winning any and we’re losing our way out of the playoff race,” said Russell, according to Michael Scotto of The Athletic. “It can easily be that, so it’s a lot of pressure.”

The Nets will face a murderers' row at home, first taking on the Boston Celtics, then the Milwaukee Bucks, and finishing with the Toronto Raptors — all playoff teams expected to go deep in the playoffs. Even dating back to last week, the Nets had the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA, coming out of a brutal seven-game road trip in which they only mustered two wins.

Center Ed Davis has been to the playoffs four times in his career  — twice with the Memphis Grizzlies and two more times with the Portland Trail Blazers — echoed the same sense of worry as Russell.

“It’s a lot of pressure because, like I’ve said, our goal is to make the playoffs, and I think we came this far and if we don’t make the playoffs it’s definitely a letdown,” said Davis. “We’re all trying to get there. That’s our goal, and like I said, if we don’t make it, I know personally I’ll be devastated, and I think 99 percent of the people in this organization would feel the same way.”

Brooklyn's schedule doesn't get any easier upon returning to the road, taking on the Bucks again, then the Indiana Pacers, before finishing out the season against the Miami Heat at the Barclays Center.
