The Brooklyn Nets' roster continues to be extremely depleted due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the organization. Their last two games have been postponed because of the number of players in protocols and it appears another one is going to be rescheduled on Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers:

As noted, the Nets don't even have eight players available. That's how bad this situation is for Steve Nash's squad right now. Essentially their entire rotation is in COVID-19 protocols, including Kevin Durant, James Harden, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Paul Millsap, among others. There are also several other players dealing with minor injuries.

Kyrie Irving is expected to return to the Nets and play in road games but just a day after that was announced, he also tested positive for the virus. As we know, Kyrie is unvaccinated. This is an absolute mess for Brooklyn and it now puts their Christmas Day showdown with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in jeopardy. They would only have two days to muster up enough guys to play in Saturday's contest.

Despite the number of games getting postponed across the NBA, commissioner Adam Silver has no plans of pausing the season. Instead, many teams are signing G-League players and veterans to fill in for the time being.

Let's pray the Nets can receive some good news between now and Christmas.
