The Brooklyn Nets have been impressive this season. After starting their 2018-19 campaign with lots of struggles, they ended up nabbing the sixth seed in the playoffs. Although they have lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round, they didn't go down without a fight.

Now, the Nets are looking forward to this summer when they can start adding pieces to strengthen their roster. They have enough cap space to sign two players to max deals, and they are going to go after the top-tier free agents.

But for Caris LeVert, even if Brooklyn misses out on their top targets, they can still be competitive next season. In an appearance on “The Woj Pod,” LeVert told host Adrian Wojnarowski that the Nets can build on their current roster if they miss out on the marquee names in free agency.

“I think Sean [Marks] and Kenny [Atkinson] have done a great job of building this team up, and we trust them 100 percent with what they're doing this offseason, with what they have to do with decisions they have to make,” LeVert said.

“But obviously if we don't get any free agents, we're a young team, you know, a competitive team, we've built great chemistry together, we had a taste of the playoffs, we had a test of, not really failure, but we got beat. We got beat pretty bad in the playoffs, and I think it left a bad taste in our mouths, and I feel like this offseason is gonna feel a lot like last offseason where we got something to prove.”

The Nets' young core of D'Angelo Russell, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert have exceeded expectations this season, but Caris believes they can still do more when given the opportunity to grow and play together.

The future looks bright for Brooklyn, and whether or not they land a superstar this June, they will only keep improving.

That's their mentality, and at this point, it would be unwise for the Nets' front office to break them up.
