In news that is going to draw headlines, Brooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell will give Golden State Warriors superstar small forward Kevin Durant a tour of Brooklyn as part of KD's “Fly By” show.

Durant becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Warriors. The Nets will have cap space to sign not one, but two max contract players in the offseason.

So yes, let the speculation begin of KD signing with the Nets once this part of the show airs:

“In the first episode, Durant and fellow Golden State Warriors teammate Quinn Cook explore their home city of San Francisco, visiting Mister Jiu’s restaurant and the legendary Hyde Street Studios in the Tenderloin,” via Doug Zanger of ADWeek. “The Fly By series will continue with episodes focused on Los Angeles with Lakers star Kyle Kuzma and Brooklyn featuring Nets guard D’Angelo Russell.”

Nets general manager Sean Marks and head coach Kenny Atkinson have turned the franchise around quickly and building a great culture.

The Nets in the hunt to make the playoffs this season for the first time since 2015. Brooklyn is 37-36 entering Friday, which is good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Russell became an All-Star this season and is one of the best young players in the league. Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson are all promising young players and Spencer Dinwiddie is an elite sixth man.

Add Durant to that group, and the Nets would become an instant contender.
