Brooklyn Nets star James Harden had the worst turnover of the season, and he did it against the hapless Detroit Pistons of all teams.

Late in the third quarter of Friday's contest against the Pistons, Harden accidentally lost the ball and was unable to recover it since he would commit a backcourt violation. However, what he did next was rather embarrassing as he let the pursuing Saddiq Bey to get the ball and score easily–without any defense and resistance.

James Harden has been improving his reputation as a defender over the past couple of years, but it's plays like this that make fans and experts alike question his defensive skills. As most NBA players have said, defense is more effort than skill–and while the Nets star may have the skills to be a decent defender, it's his effort that is questionable.

Luckily for Harden, the Nets were ahead at the time and the Pistons just didn't have enough weapons to counter them. Brooklyn ended up winning the affair 96-90, thanks in large part to Kevin Durant's 29-point explosion on top of 10 boards and five dimes.

The Beard himself had a solid night with a 13-point, 10-rebound and 10-assist triple-double. However, it almost ended up as a rare quadruple-double with his nine turnovers in the contest. Yikes!
