Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving has currently seven signature shoes with Nike. With the Kyrie 8 in the works, the public has seen a glimpse of what's in store for Irving's next signature line after a photo of the shoe leaked online.
Irving claimed that it was all Nike who was responsible for the Kyrie 8, he commented on an Instagram user:
I have nothing to do with the design or marketing of the upcoming #Kyrie8, IMO these are trash!
I have absolutely nothing to do with them!
Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneaker heads and true supporters of the #KAI11 brand.
Kyrie Irving has had a lot of off-court issues ranging from being missing in action for the Nets, the Flat-Earth comments, the disruptive comments, and the dissing of his former teammates.
On the court, Kyrie is all business as he averaged 26.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists while also joining the 50-40-90 shooting splits club for the Brooklyn Nets last season.
Irving got injured during Game 4 of the Nets and Bucks' playoff series. The Bucks proceeded to eliminate the Nets in a seven-game thriller as Brooklyn's offense was not enough with Irving out and Harden not fit.
Nike and Irving certainly have issues of their own based on Irving's statement. Nike has yet to provide a statement regarding Irving's comments.
