Tell all the shoe jokes you want, but Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie is having none of it, especially if it's the future of a promising collegiate player at stake.

Zion Williamson recently picked up a knee injury during the Blue Devils' rivalry match-up with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Less than a minute into the game, Williamson's foot literally exploded out of his shoe as he slipped and fell.

The Duke phenom immediately grabbed his knees as he planted near the free-throw line. He eventually left the game and didn't return.

Right after the incident, there were those that expressed concern over Zion Williamson's condition. However, there were also a lot who joked about the quality of his shoes, with some even criticizing Nike and Paul George — whose signature was the one that Williamson was wearing.

In fact, renowned apparel brand Puma also jumped in with a now-deleted tactless tweet.

Spencer Dinwiddie expressed his dismay over the trolls that made jokes about the incident and pointed out that instead of making fun of something so insignificant, they should be concerned about the condition of the 18-year-old.

Dinwiddie is undoubtedly right. Unfortunately, in the world we live in and with the presence of social media, it's just hard to stop those trolls who have nothing better to do. After all, they don't know how it feels like to be an athlete and experience an injury.

Initial diagnosis on Williamson reveals a mild knee sprain, but the extent of his injury is yet to be determined.
