The New Orleans Saints head to Charlotte as they take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. This Saints-Panthers matchup is crucial, as the winner will take an early lead in the NFC South standings. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Saints Week 2 prediction.

New Orleans' defense is one of the best in the league and should cause problems for the Panthers. For that reason, the Saints will be competitive in most of their games. With Sam Darnold under center for Carolina, the Saints defense should be playing aggressively, as they look to pressure the young quarterback.

The offense is where we might see this team shine on Sunday. Marquez Callaway had a quiet game in the season opener, but he's in line to produce big numbers against the Panthers. Jameis Winston balled out in Week 1 and nothing should change anytime soon. However, Alvin Kamara will remain as the featured player in this offense. With that said, here are four bold Saints Week 2 predictions for their game against the Panthers.

Saints Week 2 Predictions

4. Saints defense stifles the Panthers passing game

At the end of the day, Christian McCaffrey will do Christian McCaffrey things regardless of who he's playing. For that reason, the Saints should look to lock down Sam Darnold and his wide receivers. Continuous pressure on Darnold should force him to make mistakes. If New Orleans can achieve that goal, they'll elevate their chances of winning on Sunday.

3. Marquez Callaway bounces back

Marquez Callaway impressed the coaching staff in training camp and the preseason. With Michael Thomas out with injury, Callaway capitalized on an opportunity and now plays as the starting receiver for the Saints. He didn't live up to the hype in Week 1, but this time around he's dealing with a more favorable matchup. Look for Callaway to step up in a big way on Sunday, as he could lead New Orleans in all receiving categories.

2. Jameis Winston continues his dominance

Jameis Winston looked amazing against a tough Green Bay Packers defense. He's now going up against a young Panthers squad, creating the opportunity for Winston to have another big game. He threw the ball to a plethora of receivers in the season opener. We should see him spread the wealth once again, as Carolina could be in for a long day. Look for Winston to hit the long ball often, as this is a mismatch in the Saints favor.

1. Alvin Kamara totals 250+ yards and 2 touchdowns

Similar to Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara is the driving force for his team. Everything starts and ends with Kamara, so we should see him on full display on Sunday. Whether he's carrying the rock, or reeling in receptions, Kamara's finger prints will be all over the ball against the Panthers. Look for Alvin Kamara to possibly finish as the top running back in the league in Week 2, as the Panthers don't have an answer for the superstar running back.
