At the 11th hour, Montez Sweat may have just gotten some great news. The start of the 2019 NFL Draft is just hours away, and Sweat has one of the most uncertain futures of any prospect. Initially expected to be an early first-round pick, the Mississippi State defensive end's stock went tumbling when he was diagnosed with a heart condition.

Earlier this week, we heard the condition had caused some teams to remove him from their boards entirely. Sweat began tumbling toward the back of the first round and out of the first round entirely in many mock drafts. But now we're learning things might not have been as bad as they seemed.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting that Sweat may have been misdiagnosed at the combine, according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com. Alper writes that Sweat saw a different expert in Houston recently, and that “testing done during the visit led to a belief that he was misdiagnosed with an enlarged heart.”

Apparently, doctors made a mistake during the first diagnosis and wrongly measured his heart. Rapoport also reports that many teams have absolutely no problems with Sweat's heart, and haven't flagged him at all.

If this is true, Sweat might not be in as much danger of falling in the draft as we thought. Sweat recently announced his intention to no longer attend the draft in person, which many saw as a sign that he felt he was falling.

After transferring from Michigan State, Sweat dominated in the SEC. Last season with the Bulldogs, he had 14.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
