Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley has been touted as being one of the talented players in the 2018 NFL Draft class.

Ahead of the start of his NFL career, Barkley has reportedly agreed to sign an endorsement deal with Nike, according to Mark Wogenrich of The Morning Call.

Barkley signed a shoes and apparel deal with Nike, which has contracts with many of the NFL’s top players. Terms of the deal were not announced Friday.

“Saquon is a generational talent — it’s only fitting that his apparel partner represents the same dedication to greatness,” said Michael Yormark, president and chief of branding and strategy for Roc Nation, which represents Barkley.

The 21-year-old is arguably the best talent in his year's draft class after putting together a stellar three-year collegiate career where he earned numerous accolades. He earned a consensus All-American honor (2017), two Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year awards, two First-Team All-Big Ten selections, and a Second-Team All-Big Ten nod. In each campaign, he rushed for more than 1,000 yards while breaking more than 1,200 rushing yards with 18 touchdowns in each of the last two seasons.

Along the way, he set the school record with 43 rushing touchdowns while freshman single-season mark with 1,076, rushing yards, and hold the single-game record with 358 total yards. He has been equally as impactful on special teams as a kickoff runner that helped become the first player to score a return and passing touchdown in the same game.

Barkley has been linked to the top picks in the draft such as high as the first overall pick. However, these top two spots could wind up being taken by quarterbacks. Nonetheless, his game-changing talent could see him be taken by either the Indianapolis at the third overall selection or the Cleveland Browns could grab him at the fourth overall pick.

Nonetheless, Barkley looks to be in line for a major payday at the next level behind what could quickly become a promising NFL career.
