Brent Grimes may still be unsigned in NFL free agency, but that does not mean he is going to call it quits. According to Greg Auman of The Tampa Bay Times, Grimes does not plan on retiring.

The 35-year-old cornerback spent the 2018 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in 13 games and finishing with 48 tackles, a forced fumble and six passes defended.

Grimes, who played his collegiate football at Shippensburg, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2007.

He went on to appear in just two contests during his rookie season, logging 12 tackles. Then, the following season, Grimes participated in 12 games, registering 34 tackles, an interception and six passes defended.

Grimes then had a breakout year in 2009, totaling 66 tackles, six interceptions, a fumble recovery and 13 passes defended.

As a result, he won a full-time starting job in the Falcons' secondary the following year and proceeded to rack up 87 tackles, five picks and 23 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The Philadelphia native spent the first six years of his career in Atlanta before joining the Miami Dolphins, where he went on to enjoy the best three-year stretch of his career.

Grimes mad the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons with the Dolphins, tallying 14 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns total during his tenure with the club.

He then made his way to the Buccaneers in 2016, and in his first year with the Bucs, Grimes led the league with 24 passes defended.

However, this past season, Grimes clearly lost a step or two, which is why he remains on the free-agent market in April.
