NFL free agent Cam Newton, who spent the 2021 season with the Carolina Panthers, became a free agent following the year. Newton, who has yet to sign a deal with a team, has drawn interest from a few franchises, despite the fact that the free agency market has slowed considerably. The former NFL MVP might have lost a few suitors following his controversial comments about women, made during an appearance on Barstool Sports' “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game” podcast.

The interview started off relatively normally, as Newton began by informing the viewers about his home life growing up, saying that he was raised in a three-parent home, with his father, mother and grandmother.

The former NFL MVP went on to say that he knew what a “woman was.” Unfortunately, Newton's definition of a woman just so happened to be misogynistic and sexist.

The Panthers signal-caller shockingly said that he believes women need to “cater to a man's needs”, saying that some women “can't cook” and “don't know when to be quiet.”

Needless to say, Newton has wildly outdated views on women and is rightfully facing backlash for said views. Unfortunately, it's not the first time that he has expressed such thoughts.

Back in 2017, Newton, a member of the Panthers, was interviewed by reporter Jordan Rodrigue, who asked him a  question about then-wide receiver Devin Funchess and his route-running ability, to which the quarterback responded by saying “It's funny to hear a female talking about routes.”

It's clear that Newton, whose comments were condemned by the NFL, hasn't learned from his mistakes. It could cost him dearly in free agency.
