For a long period of time, Florida State University was a staple program in college football, producing as much NFL talent as any major collegiate school. However, since the departure of Jimbo Fisher in 2017, Florida State has been a shell of itself, going 10-12 in the two years since.

When news broke that one of the most legendary players to come out FSU in Deion Sanders was being linked to the vacant head coaching position since the firing of Willie Taggart after less than two seasons on the job, people began to murmur about the return of the program.

Although Sanders does have a desire to coach at the next level, he stated on NFL Gameday Prime show that he has not spoken to anyone from the University about the position.

Sanders attended Florida State back in college football's heyday. From 1986-1988, Deion Sanders participated in some of the most historic games in the program's history as the state of Florida dominated the college football scene at the time with Florida State and the University of Miami being two of the more talked about programs in the country.

Sanders is one of the more popular figures in the sport and if he were to become the head football coach at Florida State, there is little doubt with his recruiting ability and knowledge of the game that he would be able to bring the program back to glory. We will just have to wait on that phone call.
