Mickey Mouse has entered the chat involving the future of the NFL Sunday Ticket. The Walt Disney Company is looking to capitalize on the live streaming service that will soon be up for grabs. According to NBCSports, Disney CEO Bob Chapek shared on the talk show Fast Money that Disney is “in discussions and negotiations” for the service. He added that it would be a great addition to ESPN+, Disney's monthly sports streaming service.

The NFL Sunday Ticket is the ultimate package for professional football fans to watch every NFL game across the country each Sunday that is not available on their local sports affiliates. For example, a Carolina Panthers fan that lives in Los Angeles could watch Cam Newton's return from the comfort of his home all the way in California.

DirecTV currently owns the rights to the streaming service, but their contract with the NFL will expire after the 2022-2023 season. That being said, many commercial enterprises are interested in the investment, which costs consumers nearly $300 for a regular full-season subscription. Although Disney could be a front-runner for the broadcasting rights, other corporate giants like Amazon and Apple have expressed their interest.
