Just about two weeks ago, an arrest warrant was issued for former NFL safety Earl Thomas, who had sent threatening messages to a woman and her two children. On Friday, he was finally arrested by police in his hometown of Orange, Texas.

As noted, Thomas violated a protective order more than two times in the last 12 months which resulted in cops looking for him. The 33-year-old has dealt with lots of off-field issues in the past as well. Earl Thomas was hoping to make an NFL comeback this offseason after being out of the league since 2019, but this latest situation certainly hurts those chances.

Thomas signed a big four-year, $55 million deal in 19′ with the Baltimore Ravens, but they ultimately released him in 2020 after he punched teammate Chuck Clark during training camp. The Ravens did try to find a trade suitor, but that didn't work out and they terminated his contract instead.

Earl Thomas spent eight seasons with the Seattle Seahawks from 2010 to 2018 and emerged as one of the best safeties in the NFL. It feels very unlikely we'll ever see him play again given the numerous issues he's dealing with.

Thomas is facing a third-degree felony for this incident.
