The coronavirus, called COVID-19 by the World Health Organization, is a contagious virus that can spread from person to person. According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine, a family member of former NFL running back Michael Pittman is in critical condition and in a coma with the coronavirus.

Laine also wrote that Michael Pittman wanted her to post the tweet “to increase awareness about the dangers of the coronavirus.”

“He said they need a miracle,” Laine wrote. “So if you believe in prayer, please join me in praying for Michael Pittman and his family, while also respecting his and his family’s privacy. They need all the healing vibes they can get. He also wanted me to post this to increase awareness about the dangers of coronavirus.”

At this time, the family member is still unidentified, however, we know the family member is very close to Pittman. Michael Pittman wanted every NFL fan to know how serious and dangerous this virus is in the world.

The coronavirus has already infected more than 127,000 people and has killed more than 4,700 worldwide. In addition, the outbreak has reached at least 112 countries. According to Johns Hopkins University, about 68,000 victims have recovered from the virus.

Nevertheless, Michael Pittman played in the NFL for 11 years with three different teams and won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003. He finished his career with 5,627 rushing yards and 3,152 receiving yards. Pittman’s oldest son is Michael Jr, who was a star receiver at USC and is expected to be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.
