Just to be clear, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback  — and leading MVP candidate — Patrick Mahomes and Indianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron are not on the same team. But, if you asked former Dallas Cowboys tight end and current ESPN commentator Jason Witten on Sunday, you might have gotten a little bit of a different answer.

Capping off what was quite an underwhelming first season in the booth on Sunday afternoon in Orlando, Witten was a part of ESPN's broadcast of this year's Pro Bowl. Continuing his season-long trend of mediocrity, Witten mistakenly said that the aforementioned Mahomes and Ebron were teammates as the two connected as part of the AFC's squad.

Attempting to follow in the footsteps of his former Dallas teammate and current CBS broadcaster Tony Romo, Witten was unable to capture the same magic during his first season away from the field. While Romo was immediately on fire during his first year in the booth in 2017-18 for his wizard-like predictions and in-depth analysis, Witten seemed to trample over himself all season long in 2018-19 — Sunday afternoon's performance included.

Even so, and in Witten's defense, it was only his first go-round as a broadcaster after an illustrious career as a member of the once-heralded Cowboys. Perhaps next year will be better for the newly-retired tight end, but for the time being, hopefully, Witten doesn't go on social media much because he is certainly going to get roasted for his latest mistake.

Take cover, Jason. This one could get ugly.
