The New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the betting favorites to sign free-agent running back Le'Veon Bell, according to BetOnline.ag.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans are currently tied for third.

Bell sat out the entire 2018 campaign due to a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also held out through Week 1 in 2017, but returned in Week 2 and ended up rushing for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns on the year while hauling in 85 receptions for 655 yards and two scores en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Given that the Jets have over $100 million in cap room this offseason and absolutely need some help on the offensive side of the ball, the fact that they are currently listed as the favorites to land Bell does not come as much of a surprise.

Bell, who played his collegiate football at Michigan State University, was originally selected by the Steelers in the second round (48th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He had a fairly underwhelming rookie season, rushing for 860 yards and eight scores while averaging a meager 3.5 yards per carry.

However, the following year, Bell racked up 1,361 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 83 passes for 854 yards and three scores, making his first trip to Honolulu and earning First-Team All-Pro honors as a result.

Bell then played in just six games mainly due to a suspension the following year, and in 2016, he totaled 1,268 yards while reaching the end zone seven times on the ground.

In addition, he snared 75 balls for 616 and two touchdowns, making yet another Pro Bowl.
