Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel now has the benefit of hindsight to reflect on his tumultuous stint in the NFL. His latest realization is that his teammates ‘100% lost respect' for him.

Manziel, the 22nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, made an appearance on the YNK Podcast where he opened up about his time in the NFL — a stint that lasted just two years due to his erratic behavior on and off the field. Manziel knows that he messed up and admits he lost the respect of his former teammates:

“Looking back on it now, I would say I absolutely, 100 percent lost their respect. Why wouldn't you? If I was one of them looking back at what I was doing, and your decisions that you make off the field impact if I put food on mine, yeah I'd feel some type of way, a hundred percent. I would say we wasted a draft pick to go get this guy who doesn't give a f–k. And that's my only thing in life that I haven't been able to look back and like fully have closure on. … It's probably one of the only things that I haven't looked back on and been able to be like super, super OK with what happened.”

As a first-round pick, Manziel was touted to lead the Browns to the promised land. But even before playing his first regular-season game, Manziel raised his middle finger at Washington during a pre-season game. He was subsequently fined $12,000. In addition, he violated the league's substance-abuse policy in 2016. On the field, he wasn't performing up to par. Some analysts questioned his work ethic and commitment to the game.

In September 2o20, Johnny Manziel shared that he has no plans of playing football again, not even for the XFL.
