Many years from now, there will continue to be debate regarding who is the superior quarterback between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Although an argument could certainly be made for both, Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson knows full well which one he would prefer to play with.

Tomlinson said during an appearance on NFL Total Access that he would rather be on Brady's team over Manning's:

“Man, considering I don’t have a Super Bowl ring, I want the guy who’s got the most rings. You know, Tom Brady got six rings, man,” Tomlinson said Tuesday on NFL Network. “I’m just thinking, I played 11 years. I’m thinking out of one of those 11 years I’ma get me a Super Bowl ring with Tom Brady. He got six.”

“The other thing, I just got to think selfishly. I’m a running back. I ain’t getting the ball with Peyton Manning. He’s gonna be at the line of scrimmage, he’s gonna be checking. You know, checking to pass plays, getting out of run plays. I know with Tom Brady I’m going to have a balanced offense. I’m still gonna get my totes. The other thing, Tom Brady likes to throw it to the running back. So I’m gonna eat with Tom Brady.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Tomlinson's comments. Not only would he have had more chances to win a Super Bowl, but he may also have been able to maintain his role as an integral part of the offense. Meanwhile, Manning is likely to audible out of a run play at the line of scrimmage more often than not.

Of course, it is safe to assume that Tomlinson's presence on either side would have had a significant impact on the overall game plan. After all, he was the premier running back of his generation and is widely considered to be one of the greatest in NFL  history. There is no question that both hypotheticals would have resulted in plenty of success.

Brady still has some time to add to his impressive resume as he gets set to start a new chapter in his illustrious career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Turning the Bucs into a bonafide championship contender will only help to solidify Tomlinson's pick.
