The Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs engaged in an amazing shootout that will go down in history on Monday night. The two Super Bowl contenders played out a remarkable 54-51 contest which the Rams just edged out.

According to the NFL Research Department, that was the first game in NFL history that saw both teams score 50 or more points.

The fact that there were points in this game should come as no surprise to anyone. After all, these are two of the top three offenses in the league this season. Moreover, both defenses have not exactly been incredible at keeping their opponents putting points up. Although, the Rams defense did help out the offense as Samson Ebukam got two defensive touchdowns.

Even oddsmakers knew that a lot of scoring was in store, which was why they gave this game the highest over/under in over 30 years. And even then, the two teams blew that 63-point line away after just three quarters.

It was truly a treat to watch two incredibly talented offensive teams in the Rams and Chiefs go at it and perform at such a high level on primetime. Both teams will now get a well-deserved bye next week after delivering an all-time classic game.

After that, they will get back to work as they look to secure their place as the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences. And hopefully, the two can meet one more time and deliver another game for the ages in the Super Bowl.
