Tom Brady shocked the world on Sunday when he announced his decision to come out of retirement, less than two months after initially closing the curtain on his NFL career. Brady revealed he'd be back with the Bucs in 2022 in a statement via Twitter, which is great news all football fans, everyone except one individual. Scott Hansen kindly reminded everyone via Twitter that what was originally believed to be the football from Brady's final NFL touchdown pass had just recently sold at auction for over $500,000. Unfortunately for the buyer, that piece of memorabilia just saw its value plummet.

Brady's last NFL touchdown pass football just sold at Lelands Auction for a reported $518,000 on Saturday. One day later, however, that football will not be worth nearly as much, unless of course Brady somehow throws zero touchdowns in 2022.

Talk about a bad beat. This guy thought he'd landed one of the crown jewels of NFL memorabilia, and paid the price to land it, but instead has himself just an ordinary Brady touchdown ball, certainly not worth upwards of half a million.

The football comes from Brady's most recent game in the NFL, previously thought to be his last. He connected on a 55-yard touchdown pass with wide receiver Mike Evans in the NFC Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams, but ultimately lost the game.

The football was bid on 23 separate times before being sold at the final $518,000 price tag. While the sale was final, unfortunately for the buyer, Brady's decision to walk away from the game was not, and his return cost this individual a hefty chunk of change.
