The rumor mill is working overtime about Seattle Seahawks' superstar Russell Wilson possibly being traded to the New York Giants.

A few of said rumors suggest that Wilson wants to head to New York to play for the Giants because his wife, music superstar Ciara, would like to be near New York for her career. Ciara is currently undergoing a bit of a comeback, as her song, “Level Up,” has reached more than 157 million views and inspired a viral dance craze.

Jay Glazer wrote for The Atlantic that the rumors about Russell Wilson and his move out east are just “rumors” for now, but he wouldn't be surprised if something else came of it.

“It’s just a rumor at this point, but I have certainly seen crazier things happen in the NFL. Nothing would shock me.”

Wilson himself, however, sang a very different tune when he went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

“I’m not sure the Seahawks are going to let me get away. I love Seattle. Seattle is a special place, been able to win a Super Bowl there, go to two Super Bowls, multiple playoff games and everything else.”

Currently, Russell Wilson is in his last contract year with the Seahawks. While long-term talks have not begun about getting his contract renewed or extended, that doesn't mean they won't happen in the near future.

With Manning’s final season in New York most likely occurring in 2019, the Giants need their quarterback of the future at some point. However, it doesn’t seem like Wilson will end up being that guy.
