Former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell has seen his name thrown back into the pool of getting another shot to coach in the NFL again after it was revealed that he had interviewed for the Green Bay Packers' vacancy.

It now appears that this has led to him subsequently drawing the interest of a few other teams as Michael Lombardi of the Athletic is reporting that Caldwell is expected to speak to two other teams concerning head coaching positions.

At this current juncture, the Packers and the Cleveland Browns are the two openings around the league. This chatter would appear to suggest that there will, in fact, be additional vacancies made available that could see teams such as the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and possibly the Cincinnati Bengals all elect to head in another direction with their respective situations.

Caldwell is a proven head coach that has had success in the league with both the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts with four trips to the playoffs in seven seasons that include reaching the Super Bowl in his first year with the Colts. He is a steadying voice that teams could look to add to the mix to help push them to the next level.

The fact that his name is back in the mix should suggest that there is plenty of interest around the NFL to give him another shot to be a head coach in the league. Ultimately, this should all begin to pick up more steam over the next few weeks once additional openings become available.
