With Aaron Rodgers stating his intentions to leave the Green Bay Packers for the New York Jets, all that needs to be worked out is compensation. As the Jets try to work out a trade for Rodgers, the Packers' asking price has become a bit more clear.

Green Bay is not asking for multiple first-round picks in a deal for Rodgers, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. However, the Packers aren't looking to give Rodgers to the Jets for free.

“The Packers aren't asking for multiple first-round picks, according to a source with knowledge of negotiations,” Schneidman wrote. “But it would make sense if (Brian) Gutekunst is asking for at least the No. 13 overall pick in this year's draft in return for Rodgers.”

With Rodgers already declaring his intent to play for New York, Green Bay is a bit handcuffed in terms of what they can ask for. Furthermore, Rodgers' over $31 million cap hit this season isn't working in the Packers' favor. However, the Jets have been desperate for a star quarterback. And in Rodgers, it isn't as if they're trading for a regular gunslinger.

Aaron Rodgers has 10 Pro Bowl appearances, four All-Pro nods and four MVP titles to his name. He is also a Super Bowl champion. The future Hall of Famer has thrown for 59,055 yards and 475 touchdowns in his NFL career. If the Jets want to change the complexion of their organization, Rodgers would certainly do the job.

Both sides have been at a standstill as they await to finalize a trade. While the Packers are looking for solid draft capital in return, it won't require the Jets to give up a king's ransom to land Rodgers.
