After a disastrous start to the 2017 NFL season, the San Francisco 49ers ended the year with a bang by winning their last five games. There is plenty for general manager John Lynch and the rest of his staff to be excited about moving forward.

However, there is one looming concern Lynch has for the upcoming offseason. According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, it's the growing likelihood that his team will be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks:

“It’s not something we would be really excited about,” Lynch said. “I love the show, but I think some things are best left behind closed doors. I fundamentally have a problem with cutting players and things of that nature (on camera). It’s not something we’d be thrilled about.”

While most coaches and executives around the league share the same notion as Lynch, the 49ers are among the six teams that are obligated to be featured should they be chosen. Unfortunately, San Francisco makes a pretty compelling case.

The 49ers started the year 0-9 before winning six of their next seven games under rookie head coach Kyle Shanahan, including their last five with newly-acquired quarterback Jimmy Garappolo under center, sparking plenty of intrigue for the up-and-coming 49ers.
