The Arizona Cardinals will take on the Seattle Seahawks to kick off Week 11 of the 2020 season.
This is a rematch of Week 7 when the Cardinals defeated the Seahawks at home in overtime by a final score of 37-34.
Arizona is coming off an improbable win in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills. Star wideout DeAndre Hopkins caught a Hail Mary pass over three Bills defenders to give the Cardinals the win. It was easily the best play of the season thus far and helped Arizona improve to 6-3.
This Week 11 game is very important since the Cardinals and Seahawks are tied with the Los Angeles Rams for first place in the NFC West. With that being said, let's take a look at four bold predictions for the contest from an Arizona point of view.
1. Kyler Murray throws three touchdowns
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is only in his second year in the NFL and he's already one of the best gunslingers in the league. The former No. 1 overall pick has thrown for 2,375 yards on the season and 17 touchdowns while completing 68.2 percent of his passes.
Since the Seahawks have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, we have Murray going off for three passing touchdowns in Week 11. He tossed three touchdowns in Week 7 and racked up 360 yards through the air and 67 on the ground.
When we talk about the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, reigning MVP Lamar Jackson is usually the first name that comes to mind. However, with the season that he's having, Murray may have to be the first guy on that list now since he's playing at an MVP-level, is arguably the fastest player in the NFL from the quarterback position and has a rocket arm.
2. DeAndre Hopkins catches all three touchdowns from Murray
In his first season with the Cardinals, Hopkins has been stellar. He has 67 receptions for 861 yards and four touchdowns, none bigger than his aforementioned Hail Mary catch in Week 10 against the Bills.
The Seahawks had no answers for Hopkins in Week 7, as the Pro Bowler caught 10 balls on 12 targets for 103 yards and one touchdown. Seattle's secondary is putrid even though strong safety Jamal Adams is back in the lineup. We have Hopkins catching three touchdowns on Thursday Night Football against the Seahawks and reminding everyone that he's the best wide receiver in the NFL.
Murray and Hopkins already have great chemistry on the field. In fact, Hopkins told reporters last week he likes it when Murray yells at him since it's establishing the culture in Arizona. If Cardinals players see Murray holding Hopkins accountable and Hopkins responding to it, everyone on the team will take their game to another level.
3. Cardinals pick off Russell Wilson twice
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is in a really bad funk right now. Although the former Super Bowl champion has 28 touchdown passes on the season, Wilson has thrown seven interceptions in his last four games, including three in Week 7 against the Cardinals.
With that being said, we have Arizona's defense picking off Wilson twice in Week 11. Look for All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson to get one INT since he had one interception last week and wants to make up for almost blowing the game against the Bills. The former LSU superstar gave up the potential go-ahead touchdown to Bills playmaker Stefon Diggs and looked really down on the sideline until Hopkins saved the day with his miracle catch.
Wilson has faced the Cardinals 17 times during his career. He has 27 touchdown passes to go along with eight interceptions. We can see Wilson having a good game versus Arizona since he usually responds to adversity well. However, don't be surprised if the 31-year-old continues to have trouble keeping the ball away from the other team as well.
4. Cardinals defeat Seahawks to improve to 7-3
After Arizona acquired Hopkins from the Houston Texans, the team was expected to compete for the playoffs in the NFC. Not only are the Cardinals fulfilling that promise thus far, but they could win the NFC West Division with the way Murray and Hopkins are playing on offense.
A win against the Seahawks in Week 11 would be huge for the Cardinals. They would be 2-0 against the Seahawks and be in first place in the NFC West. Assuming Arizona defeats Seattle, the team would then pray for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat the Rams on Monday Night Football so they can be in sole possession of first place in the NFC West, which is the toughest division in football.
It's an exciting time to be a Cardinals fan, that's for certain. Look for the team to win in Week 11 and improve to 7-3 on the season.
