Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald detailed his battle with COVID-19 on Thursday, one that included fairly significant weight loss.
Fitzgerald said he lost nine pounds after contracting the virus, adding he lost his sense of taste and smell, per Kimberley A. Martin. The 37-year-old also revealed he readjusted his will.

Fitz is the latest athlete who serves as an example of the major ramifications that come with the virus, regardless of age, stature or physical condition.
The legendary Cardinals wideout is one of the most well-conditioned players in the game, yet even he admitted there were days when he struggled.
In any event, Fitzgerald is eligible to return this weekend after the Cardinals activated him from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday.

Fitzgerald has yet to tally 100 yards in a single game this year, and he is also averaging just 7.8 yards per reception while failing to record a touchdown. However, he had eight catches for 62 yards in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks after posting that same exact line in the first meeting between the two teams.
Arizona will be glad to have Fitzgerald back in the receiving corps as the Cardinals hope to get back on track following three consecutive losses.
The Cardinals' offense has sputtered. Arizona tallied under 300 total yards in each of the past two games after racking up just 314 yards of total offense against the Seahawks in Week 11. As a result, the Cardinals have fallen out of the NFC playoff picture.
Fitzgerald, Kyler Murray and Co. will look to make a statement against the New York Giants on Sunday.
