You know all of that talk about the Arizona Cardinals potentially being interested in Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in next month's NFL Draft? Well, those rumors may be becoming a reality.
According to Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle, the Cardinals are meeting with Murray on the University of Oklahoma campus, a clear indication of Arizona's interest in the quarterback.
There has been a whole lot of chatter about the Cardinals possibly taking Murray, which would essentially leave Josh Rosen in the dark. Arizona took Rosen with its first-round draft choice last year, but if the Cards draft Murray, that would certainly mean that Rosen would be on his way out.
The problem for the Cardinals is that Rosen's value does not seem to be all that high after a disappointing rookie campaign, with many feeling that he is not worth anything more than a third-round pick at this point.
This past season, Rosen started 13 games and threw for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing just 55.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 66.7.
Murray is coming off of a 2018 campaign with Oklahoma in which he finished with 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven picks while completing 69 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 199.2. In addition, he rushed for 1,001 yards and 12 scores.
A multi-sport athlete, Murray was also chosen by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the MLB Draft last June, but he appears to be leaning toward football.
The Cardinals won just three games this past year.
