The Arizona Cardinals are set to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night for their Wild Card round matchup in the NFL Playoffs. The game figures to be a high-scoring affair, with two of the league's best offenses set to square off. Well, while the offense may be the main talking point in this one, the Cardinals got a significant boost to their defense ahead of the crucial matchup. According to Johnny Venerable, star defensive end J.J. Watt is officially active for the Monday night showdown.

Getting Watt back in time for the playoffs is huge for the Cardinals, who have been without the veteran pass-rusher since Week 7. Watt was placed on IR after undergoing surgery on various injuries to his arm. It looked as if the 32-year-old was going to be out for the season, however he managed to make it back in time for the Cardinals biggest game of the season.

Prior to his injury, Watt had recorded 16 tackles, one sack, five tackles for loss, and 10 QB hits across seven games. While he wasn't on the field as much as he'd like to be during his first year with the Cardinals, he managed to make a remarkable recovery from his injuries, and will now look to wreak havoc in the trenches against the Rams.

We're sure Matthew Stafford and Co. were hoping Watt would be on the sideline on Monday night, but that won't be the case following the latest update on the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
