After naming rookie first round NFL Draft pick Zaven Collins the starter, the Arizona Cardinals will reportedly allow Jordan Hicks to seek a trade.

Naming a starter this early is a bit odd, but if the Cardinals know what they want now, and immediate plans do not call for a significant role involving Hicks, they might as well see what's out there for him.

The report does note — and this is important — that Jordan Hicks is pretty beloved by those within the Cardinals. In turn, they want to do right by the talented linebacker, as he still has plenty of gas left in the tank.

This brings us to a rather obvious question: If Arizona is allowing Jordan Hicks to find the trade, which is what the report states, what are the Cardinals expecting in return? Like, just how much “do right by him” are they willing to do? Will they send him to a title contender for peanuts? Probably not.

Nevertheless, Zaven Collins is a bit of an athletic marvel. Paring him up on the same defense as Isaiah Simmons seems legitimately unfair. They are going to figuratively murder some people on behalf of the Cardinals. As for Jordan Hicks, hopefully he lands at a place where he can contribute to winning football.
