Hudson was a staple of the Cardinal's offensive line last season. He posted a pass blocking grade of 66.8 according to PFF. Through 798 offensive snaps, Hudson allowed just one sack and four total pressures.
The return of Hudson will be welcome for quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray who will already be without star wide receiver Deandre Hopkins for the first six games of the season will appreciate the familiarity that will come with the return of Hudson. With a receiving core missing its top weapon, a, proven pass blocker will be necessary.
Article Continues BelowKyler Murray, who is still in search of a new contract, will be looking to build on a solid 2021 season. The former number one overall pick has been solid since entering the NFL in 2019.
Through 46 career starts, Kyler Murray has a record of 22-23-1. He has thrown for 11,480 yards, 70 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions. Murray has also been elite in the running game. He has added another 1,786 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground.
With Hopkins being out for a third of the season, the Cardinals will have to look to incorporate other pieces of the offense. Newly acquired wide receiver Marquise Brown could play a massive role in this team's success. With these issues on the offensive side of the ball, their offensive line will have to be both reliable and consistent. Rodney Hudson should play a big factor in this.
