The Arizona Cardinals have booked a ticket to the playoffs for the first time in six seasons, but that simply isn't enough for head coach Kliff Kingsbury. His team is struggling lately, losing three in a row and dropping to 10-5 on the season.

Kingsbury gave his brutally honest take on securing a berth in the postseason and how the Cardinals really feel about it:

“I don’t think [qualifying] was ever on the forefront of our minds,” Kingsbury said, via Darren Urban of Cardinals.com. “We’ve just been trying to improve and play better. That’s been the focus. To be in the playoffs with two games left is an accomplishment, and we understand that. But we know we’ve got to improve a lot and play better football and stop hurting ourselves in these games before we even think about taking the next step.”

Indeed, Kingsbury has a point. It's extremely important the Cardinals finish the year on a high note or else they would easily find themselves out in the first round. While injuries have taken their toll on Arizona, with the likes of J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins out indefinitely, the Cardinals have looked distraught on both sides of the ball, scoring just 28 points across the last two games and giving up 30 points to an atrocious Detroit Lions team in Week 15.

Unfortunately, it doesn't get any easier in Week 17 as they take on the red-hot Dallas Cowboys.
