It wasn't long ago that the Arizona Cardinals looked like a Super Bowl contender and Kyler Murray was an MVP candidate. But now, the Cardinals are looking like a one-and-done team.

After a truly pathetic Week 15 performance against the Detroit Lions, Arizona fell flat again in a 22-16 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas. It was the Cardinals' third consecutive loss to drop to 10-5 on the season after starting 7-0. The once-dominant offense has been stuck in the mud for a while now, with Murray struggling to recapture the early-season magic after missing time with an injury. DeAndre Hopkins' major knee injury certainly isn't helping matters either.

Following the loss to the Colts, Murray opened up on Arizona's slide and kept it real. Via ESPN's Josh Weinfuss:

“We feel it, you see it,” quarterback Kyler Murray said. “It's just good teams don't do that and we weren't doing that early on in the season, and now you see, it's killing us in crucial moments where we're just not scoring touchdowns because of it, or vice versa, on the other side of the ball.

“As a collective group, offensively and defensively, like it's just mental mistakes that you just can't keep making if we want to win these games that we know we're supposed to be winning. I mean, it's bad football.”

Murray wasn't bad against Indy, though he was rather mediocre throwing the ball. The Cardinals star completed 27-of-43 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown without any interceptions. He also rushed four times for 74 yards.

Arizona racked up 11 penalties for 85 yards, and kicker Matt Prater had a nightmare game with two missed field goals and a botched extra point. With Murray not at his best and all those other mistakes, it led to another disappointing loss.

The Cardinals are still in line to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season, but they don't look like much of a threat right now. We'll see if they can turn things around to finish the regular season.
