According to James Palmer from NFL Network, Arizona Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks would like to get Josh Rosen some snaps against the Denver Broncos in their final preseason game on Thursday. Wilks expects Rosen's status to be a game-time decision.

Rosen missed Sunday's game with a swollen thumb he acquired after banging it on a teammates helmet while making a throw last Monday. The rookie sits at No. 2 on the quarterback depth chart behind Sam Bradford. While starters don't typically play in the final week of preseason, the coaching staff wants Rosen to get all the experience he can get. Rosen has completed 16 of 29 pass attempts for 148 yards and one touchdown so far in the preseason. While he hasn't thrown any interceptions yet, the Cardinals haven't been given a sample size big enough to evaluate him properly.

Bradford's reputation for being frail is cause for concern in determining who should fill the backup quarterback spot. Rosen's injury appears to be minor, but the Cardinals organization wants to be confident in his abilities to be a viable backup quarterback before they choose him over Mike Glennon.

One thing Wilks isn't worried about is his defense. The Cardinals have accrued six interceptions over the past three weeks and boast an impressive 16-1 turnover ratio. Even though Cardale Jones, Tayson Hill, and Cooper Rush are the starting quarterbacks they've faced, numbers don't lie. If they sure things up on the other side of the ball, the Cardinals could make some serious noise this year.
