The side story to all the Kyler Murray speculation in Arizona, of course, is what is going to happen to quarterback Josh Rosen?

Murray is the overwhelming favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals two weeks from tonight. That would put Rosen’s future is upheaval, creating a strange situation. The Cardinals traded up from No. 15, sending that pick and a third-round pick to the Oakland Raiders for the No. 10 pick to take Rosen out of UCLA last season. Rosen finished the season as the Cardinals’ starter, but he struggled. It wasn’t a surprise because Arizona’s roster was awful. The Murray talk in Arizona escalated when the Cardinals hired Kliff Kingsbury as coach. The quarterback guru was at Texas Tech last season. He said he would take Murray as the No.1 pick of he had the choice. Months later, he gets to make that choice.

So that means there are rumors about Rosen’s future. The Washington Redskins have been often linked to Rosen because they have an immediate need because  quarterback Alex Smith likely won’t be ready to play this season because of a broken leg he suffered last season.

However, NFL Media reported that the Redskins aren’t actively interested in Rosen. The report also states Rosen probably won’t be traded before the draft.

The Redskins have been connected to several quarterback prospects and are visiting with several. Perhaps that is the way they will go instead of pursuing Rosen.
