One of the more lopsided Week 15 matchups on paper will feature the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets on Thursday night. The Ravens have won nine in a row and are currently the hottest team in the league. The Jets are coming off an unimpressive win over the Miami Dolphins.
The Jets have an extremely small chance to go into Baltimore and win this game. The Ravens have not suffered a hiccup all season long.
Here are three predictions for the Ravens on the offensive side of the ball in this one.
3. Ravens Get Back to Scoring 30 Points
In recent years, the Ravens' offense has been a problem while their defense has been elite. This season, their offense is one of the more explosive in the league. Led by MVP front-runner Lamar Jackson, the Ravens lead the league scoring 33.1 points per game.
Prior to their 20-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Ravens scored 30 or more points in five straight games and 40 or more in three in a row. They will be home in this game against a struggling team, so they will have no trouble getting the ball in the end zone.
2. Baltimore Rushes for 200
Article Continues BelowThis is right at their season average. The most incredible part about this is that Baltimore is averaging 51.8 more rushing yards than any other team in the league. This is not a typical ground and pound style. Lamar Jackson uses his shiftiness to get into space while Mark Ingram is a one cut runner who hits the open hole and goes.
If there is a part of the Jets' game that has been decent, it is their front seven. They have allowed just 78.8 rushing yards per game on the season, but they will have trouble stopping the Ravens. It seems that defenses could put two extra defenders on the field and the Ravens will still be able to run the ball with dominance.
1. Three Different Players Score on the Ground
This is no bold claim for Ingram or Jackson. The two have combined for 16 rushing touchdowns on the season and will both eclipse 1,000 yards by season's end. Gus Edwards has the third most carries on the team, but he has scored just two touchdowns. Justice Hill has totaled 41 carries and has not found the end zone.
If we are looking for three players to score on the ground, Jackson and Ingram are locks. The third can be anyone on the team. Edwards has the best chance, but who knows what the Ravens will pull out of their hats.
