Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are looking to take another step towards securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture this week with a divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns. It is a game that the team would like to win after falling to the Browns earlier this season.
Heading into this week's matchup, the Ravens have a 12-2 record, while the teams trailing them are not going away. The New England Patriots are 12-3 after their big-time win over the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs are currently 10-4 on the season. Thankfully, the Ravens have the head-to-head win over the Patriots.
All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at three bold predictions for the Ravens this week against the Browns.
3. The Defense Will Force Four Turnovers
One of the biggest issues all season long for the Browns has been turnovers. Baker Mayfield has taken a big step back this season and the offense as a whole has looked horrible. First-year head coach Freddie Kitchens quite simply is not getting the job done.
On the other side of things, defense has been a major strength for the Ravens. They are going to expose every single weakness in the Cleveland offense. Baltimore will force at least four turnovers this week and will officially eliminated the Browns from playoff contention.
2. Robert Griffin III Will Get Legitimate Playing Time
That's right, we're going to get another look at the former No. 2 overall pick. Robert Griffin III has not received any meaningful playing time this season appearing in six games total. In those six games, Griffin has racked up 129 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
With a blowout win coming once again this week for the Ravens, the franchise won't take a risk on leaving Jackson in too long. Griffin is going to get into the game at some point in the third or early fourth quarter. He may not get a ton of passing opportunities, but he will get to run some offense.
1. Baltimore Wins This Matchup By 17+ Points
Finally, let's just go ahead and make a bold prediction on how this game will end up. Baltimore is going to win this one and they are going to win it convincingly.
Jackson and company are going to be looking to secure that No. 1 playoff seed. They are going to come out strong from opening kickoff and won't slow down. Expect this team to make the Browns look incredibly bad and they might even place Kitchens firmly on the hot seat with how bad of a performance it will be.
