The Baltimore Ravens will be looking to bounce back in 2022 after missing out on the playoffs last season with an 8-9 record. They lost their last six games in a row and basically blew any chances of making the postseason. One strength of the Ravens' offense though was their run game, ranking third in the NFL. However, most of that damage came from Lamar Jackson.
The team took a step in the right direction in bolstering the running back room on Tuesday, signing former Atlanta Falcons RB Mike Davis to a one-year deal.

Davis was released by the Falcons last week after just one season where he collected just 503 yards on 138 carries. The Ravens lost both of their top backs in 21′ to ACL injuries as J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards missed the entire campaign. Devonta Freeman, Latavius Murray, and Ty'Son Williams all spent time in the Baltimore backfield as a result, but Jackson's 767 rushing yards led the squad.
Davis hasn't been the most effective RB during his seven-year NFL career, compiling just 2,034 yards. 2020 was his best season, collecting 1,015 yards rushing with the Carolina Panthers.
There is no doubt the Ravens love to have a quarterback like Lamar who can truly do it all, but there is more injury risk when he's running the ball at such a frequent rate. Bringing in another running back to eat up yards is definitely important for Jackson's long-term health.
