The Philadelphia Eagles released LJ Fort on Friday, but it doesn't seem he'll be out of a job for long. Just a day after the Eagles cut him, Fort visited the Baltimore Ravens, per Field Yates of ESPN.

As Yates alluded to, Baltimore has an open roster spot and Fort could provide them with some depth at linebacker. The veteran linebacker was released by the Eagles to make room for Orlando Scandrick (who the team signed on Friday).

Fort is somewhat familiar with playing in the AFC North; he played for the all of the teams in the division besides the Ravens. The Northern Iowa product began his career with the Cleveland Browns in 2012 but only lasted one season there.

Following his time with the Browns, Fort joined the Cincinnati Bengals for a short stint in 2013. Finally, Fort found himself a long-term home after he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015.

The once undrafted linebacker spent four seasons with the Steelers and suited up in 44 games with the team. Over his four years in Pittsburgh, Fort accumulated 52 tackles, two sacks, and five tackles for loss.

During the offseason, Fort signed with the Eagles in hopes to carve out a role with the team. In the Eagles first four games, the inside linebacker was in uniform in all of them but he failed to record any stats.

Additionally, with Fort being released by the Eagles, the Steelers will no longer receive a compensatory pick for the 29-year-old linebacker. The Ravens could worsen the blow by signing Fort and making him a key contributor on their roster.
