The Baltimore Ravens needed a boost for their D-Line, so their approach to defensive tackle Michael Brockers made a lot of sense. However, it seems that they will have to amend their plans as talks between the two parties broke down in spectacular fashion.
ESPN's Adam Schefter was one of the first people to break the news of Brockers not heading to the AFC North favorites. It was a move that definitely surprised fans who expected the matter done and dealt with in the coming days.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport provided the details that caused contract talks to break down. The ankle injury he sustained last season was brought up during physicals, and it's not hard to see that it single-handedly ruined his chances of becoming a Raven.

Brocker is a solid contributor who has been a part of the defensive line ever since his rookie campaign in 2012. He's built a niche for himself during his eight years in the NFL, the highlight of his career being his appearance in Super Bowl LIII. The Rams barely missed playoff football last season, and it soon became clear that his path would differ from the Rams.
However, things may change now that the Ravens pulled out of the negotiations. There may be a chance for the Rams to swoop in and tie him to a more favorable contract. It's also possible that he gets another favorable offer who can look beyond his injury history and tie him down to a contract.
Meanwhile, the Ravens will have to find a new man to fill up the spot Brockers was meant for. The Tennessee Titans made it painfully clear that they need help on their defensive line. Whether they get to sign that man is up in the air.
