The Baltimore Ravens have finally made their decision about what they plan to do at the quarterback position for the upcoming 2018 campaign. The team is stacked at the position with veteran Joe Flacco highly motivated to prove himself once again, Robert Griffin III looks like he's turned back the clock, and rookie Lamar Jackson better than expected heading into his rookie season.
The consensus seemed to be that Flacco would remain the starter with Jackson backing up the one-time Super Bowl champion. This situation would make Griffin the odd man out and potentially set to be released or traded. However, that didn't turn out to be the case with Griffin being named the second man on the quarterback depth chart behind Flacco, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Some clarity here: My understanding is the #Ravens aren’t trading RG3 and the plan is he’ll enter the season as No. 2 QB behind Joe Flacco. Rookie Lamar Jackson gets to sit, learn (and probably do other fun stuff, too). https://t.co/OR3i99WR1C

This is an interesting move by the Ravens which gives the team a lot of depth at the position heading into what could be a season in which the future of the franchise is determined. Head coach John Harbaugh will need to show improvement, especially on the offensive end of the football field or he could be on the hot seat by season's end.
The 2018 NFL season will be make-or-break for Flacco as another sub-par campaign will almost certainly send him to the bench, especially with Griffin and Jackson ready and waiting. Fortunately for Flacco, the team has added some much-needed weapons on offense to help give the team a boost on that side of the football.
The additions of wide receivers Michael Crabtree, Willie Sneed, and John Brown will give Flacco the targets needed to make the passing game a force to be reckoned with. However, there's no guarantee everything goes according to plan for the Ravens as they try to bounce back from missing the playoffs yet again last season.
